Susan Dearborn Interiors works for and with our clients. I first schedule an initial consultation in your home to introduce myself, review my portfolio with you and discuss your design needs. I will go over how I work, including my Letter of Agreement and the role of my assistants in my office. We will discuss fees and budget.
After this initial meeting, it is my hope that you will feel I am the correct person to assist you with your project. I will gladly meet with your spouse or partner at any time and welcome the interactive participation of all members of the household.
Susan Dearborn Interiors will do design and decor for one room or an entire house. We will work with our clients, builders and architects on any renovation and building project from blueprints to completion. (Please see Designer's Role)
Once the Letter of Agreement has been signed the design work commences. I often give magazines to new clients for them to review and designate design preferences. I will then discuss these choices during a meeting with the client and a design assistant from my office. I will initiate trips to vendors if the project is design and décor. If the project involves building and remodeling, I can recommend architects and builders or will set up a meeting with those contractors already hired by the client. I personally work closely with each client during all design selection until a master plan has been approved. Then your project design assistant will coordinate all contractors and initiate and track all orders.
I feel Susan Dearborn Interiors' role throughout your project is one of educator, coordinator and implementer. I will guide you through the decision making process while educating you about the design choices available and make professional recommendations. We will then order all goods and materials, coordinate all contractors, schedule all installations and oversee all deliveries.
